Farm Africa 5-a-side football

Posted on 21 Jun 2013 at 11:25

A couple of weeks ago my former sous chef Lee Bye came up with the idea of hosting an industry 5 a side football tournament, so in conjunction with Farm Africa we have put together a tournament open to anyone in the industry from chefs to waiters, to suppliers and colleges on Sunday the 28th of July.

The day starts at 10.00am and is hosted by Manor Regional College in Cambridge wym-1371823132557 it includes the football competition, food catered for by Mark @ Dingley Dell wym-1371812045777 some drinks and a raffle, the day will finish at 4.00pm at the very latest.

The entry fee for a team is £70, teams of 7 maximum (5 players + 2 subs) all proceeds go towards our Kilimanjaro charity fund for the amazing Farm Africa charity. The fee includes food and a drink for the team.

Please post your interest with myself on twitter, and then confirm by paying the £70 entry fee into my Virgin giving account >>>>> wym-1371811958495

Please be aware a team is only confirmed when paid at the above web address, so make sure you leave your name when paying. Unfortunately I can't give refunds once a payment is made.

Please bring your family and friends along for the day to enjoy the games and cheer on the teams. We'll have a raffle and sweepstake happening throughout the day and they can enjoy a hog roast while the teams battle it out.

I will update the team list below as a new team confirms, join up quick as there is already lots of interest and only a maximum 16 places, more details will be posted on this website and  http://www.thestaffcanteen.com in the near future. Any questions please feel free to ask.

The tournament will work on a league basis so each team gets a minimum of three matches, it will then move onto quarter finals, semi finals, a 3rd place play off and the grand Final.

Besides a few good games of football this should be a great day for industry peers to get together socialise and form new links whilst promoting a fantastic charity and raising money for their cause.
